H1N1 INFORMATION UPDATE Health Department offers walk-in clinics for H1N1 vaccine Woodstock IL – Beginning Thursday, January 21 st , the McHenry County Department of Health will offer daily walk-in clinics for H1N1 vaccinations at its Woodstock (2200 N. Seminary Avenue) and Crystal Lake (100 N. Virginia Street) offices. No appointment necessary. Hours are 8:30am-noon and 12:30pm-4:00pm, Monday through Friday, until further notice. There is no cost for the H1N1 vaccine and clinics are open to ALL county residents over 6 months of age. Children under 10 years old should receive their 2 nd dose of the H1N1 vaccine four weeks after receiving the first dose. With an ample supply of vaccine available, now is the best time to vaccinate against the H1N1 virus. The H1N1 virus continues to circulate in McHenry County and has caused serious infection, especially to those with underlying medical conditions. The vaccine not only protects you but it helps protect the people around you. If you get the flu, you can pass it to others including babies, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions who are more likely to suffer serious complications.
