INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS

Because of irregular municipal boundaries it often becomes necessary for Nunda Road District personnel to travel through a municipality to reach the roads they service. State law permits, and encourages, Intergovernmental Agreements that help eliminate duplication of services. Nunda Township Road District has Intergovernmental Agreements with municipalities within the Township. We also have Intergovernmental Agreements with Fire Districts, McHenry County Conservation District and School Districts.

Intergovernmental Agreements provide for a wide range of matters such as the sale of salt and road materials or exchange of services such as mowing, plowing, etc.

Intergovernmental Agreements allow Nunda Road District to purchase salt in conjunction with several other Road Districts through the County's salt purchase bid in order to take advantage of quantity pricing. Such arrangements save the taxpayers money.
